Algebra is used in lots of differant ways in everyday life because it's maths.
Many people learn algebra, and then never use it in their "real life". It's not that it COULDN'T be useful; but rather, that many people tend to forget how to use it. In some professions, you will DEFINITELY need algebra - as well as more advanced math.
because it is hard to understand and some people dont realize how important it is in life!
Mathematics which includes Algebra is considered "the mother of all science". Therefore it is used of course extensively in all higher mathematics and in all the sciences. It is possible to use some problem solving techniques that you learn in Algebra to solve proplems in real life even if you are not a scientist or mathematician.
You do. Probably every day. If you learn basic algebra, you grasp the concept of how quantities of different variables add together to give a total quantity. For example, if you go the cinema and spend £8 or $, on a ticket and 3 bottles of coke and you know the ticket was £5 then it follows that the coke cost £3, and £1 each bottle. Sure you might not write down x:price of coke, and 5 +3x=8, therfore x =1. But the concept is there and if you hadn't done algebra then you wouldn't have that concept. (And don't say that's just addition as it's not-it's actually algebra!)This is only 1 example, there are millions. So next time you hear someone whining about algebra you can explain how they use it in everyday life.
