A percentage is an expression of hundredths of a number. To obtain a percentage, multiply the number by the percentage in hundredths.

IE; 20% of 15 = .20 X 15 = 3 twenty percent of 15 equals 3

% change =|original value - new value|/original value * 100%

Example: To get the % change from 18% to 37%

= |18 - 37|/18 * 100%

= 19/18 * 100%

= 1.0556* 100%

= 105.56%
