This is what I did. Slide the bar from OFF to ITEM. Hit the blue button on the left TIME/DATE, then hit the equals (=) sign to set the date and time. Slide the bar from ITEM to OFF. When I want to print the date on my till tape, I hit TIME/DATE. (Once, prints the date and a second hit prints prints the time.) Hit CE/C to get $0.00 to display and ready to calculate.
2142 dude...you have a pc....just use the calculator function
To find the zeros of a function using a TI-30X calculator, first, enter the function into the calculator using the appropriate mode (usually in "function" mode). Then, use the "Table" feature to generate values of the function. Look for where the function changes signs, indicating a zero. You can then estimate the zero by narrowing down the interval around the point where the sign change occurs. Note that the TI-30X does not have a built-in root-finding feature, so you might need to use a graphing calculator for more precise results.

It depends on the calculator - some have the sqrt function, with others you need to use the exponent.
Any calculator that serves with a calculation function only can be used in the gate exam. A scientific calculator is recommended, but you should use whatever you are comfortable with and have practiced with.
The inverse of a logarithmic function is an exponential function. So to find the "inverse" of the log function, you use the universal power key, unless you're finding the inverse of a natural log, then you use the e^x key.
5tanx=1 turns into tanx=1/5 then you use a calculator use the calculator function tan^(-1) this function should be the 2nd function of tan then in the parenthesis that come up type in 1/5 you should get .1974 therefore tanx=1/5 => x=.1974

It depends on the type of HP calculator you are using. You may only use a four-function, scientific, and graph calculator that does not come with other functions.
Most complex calculators have pi built into it. But you can use 3.14 if you only have a four function calc.
