โ 14y agoIt will take 9 days to empty a 65-gallon tank by removing 7 gallons a day (65 gallons รท 7 gallons/day = approximately 9 days).
You know that there are 48 gallons per 14 days (assuming that there is a reasonably constant flow-- not all 48 gallons were measured in only one of the 14 days). The idea is to figure out, on average, the number of gallons per day. Once you do that, the unit rate would be x gallons per day. In this case the 'unit' is a day. You could also, if it is helpful, figure out days per gallon, in which case one gallon is the 'unit'.
At 1 gps (gallon per second), which translates into 60 gpm ((*60)gallons per minute), 3600 gph ((*60)gallons per hour), and 86400 (*24 hours in a day) gallons per day, 400000 gallons could be filled in 400,000 gal / 86,400 gal days, or 4.63 days.
1/2 gallon
There are 60 minutes in an hour, so in a day, that would be 60 minutes/hour * 24 hours/day = 1440 quarts per day. In a week, that would be 1440 quarts/day * 7 days/week = 10,080 quarts. To convert to gallons, divide by 4 since 1 gallon is equivalent to 4 quarts. So, 10,080 quarts is equal to 10,080 quarts / 4 quarts/gallon = 2520 gallons per week.
Assuming there are exactly 365 days in a year, there are 8760 hours. Because 1 gallon of oil corresponds with 1 hour, you will combust 8760 gallons of oil in a year with your given rate.
25 mpg15 miles x 5 days = 75 miles75 miles / 3 gallons = 25 mpg
The empty set, if you are referring to names of days of the week.
It would take approximately 11.57 days to fill the outer bay exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which holds 1,000,000 gallons of sea water, at a rate of 1 gallon per second. This is calculated by dividing the total volume of water by the rate of filling in gallons per second.
Provided you have followed the basic rule of "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water" (so a Betta needs at least 3 gallons of water) and the tank has a cycled filter. (to remove deadly Ammonia and Nitrite). The fish will be perfectly OK going without food for 3 days.
5 day * 80 mi / day * 1 gal / 25 mi = 16 gal
Than it will be empty. Call your insurance agent.
