If the number is a terminated or a repeated decimal (a rational number), you can convert it to a fraction (integer/integer ≠ 0).
If the number is irrational, it's very hard to turn it into a fractional form.
Examples:
1) 0.5 = 5/10 = 1/2
2) 0.234 = 234/1000 = 117/500
3) 0.666... = ? you need to work a little bit.
let x = 0.666... multiply both sides by 10
10x = 6.666...subtract the 1st equation from the 2nd one
9x = 6 divide both sides by 9
x = 6/9 simplify
x = 2/3
thus, 0.666... = 2/3
4) 0.123123... = ? work in the same way as in the problem (3)
let x = 0.123123... multiply both sides by 1,000
1,000x = 123.123123...subtract the 1st equation from the 2nd one
999x = 123 divide both sides by 999
x = 123/999 simplify
x = 41/333
thus, 0.123123... = 41/333
5) 0.343636... = ?
Let 0.343636... = 0.34 + 0.003636... convert them separately into a fraction and add those fractions together.
0.34 = 34/100 = 17/50
let x = 0.003636... multiply both sides by 10,000
10,000x = 36.3636...subtract the 1st equation from the 2nd one
9999x = 36 divide both sides by 9999
x = 36/9999 simplify
x = 4/1111
Thus,
0.343636... = 17/50 + 4/1111 = (17*1111 + 4*50)/(50*1111) = 19,087/55550.

9 is am integer, not really a fraction. But you can express it as 9/1.9 is am integer, not really a fraction. But you can express it as 9/1.9 is am integer, not really a fraction. But you can express it as 9/1.9 is am integer, not really a fraction. But you can express it as 9/1.
Put the percent over 100 to make a fraction. Then simplify the fraction and you have the ratio. ex.) 1. 50% 2. 50/100 (thats the fraction 50 over 100) 3. 1/2 (I divided both the numerator and denominator both by 50) 4. 1:2 (thats your ratio)

78% Think of it this way: 50 is 100% (per cent = "out of 100") So the first thing you do, is to set up the fraction: 100/50. Thats your "whole" Then you need to see how many parts out of this 39 makes: ((39*100)/50) = 78 And there you go ;P
A micron is 0.000001 metres if thats what you mean
the fraction is a fraction of one, thats what is to the right of the decimal point, in this case its 0.75 or 75 / 100 (same thing) which simplifies to 3 / 4 so your number is ninety three and three quarters
heres a couple things to indentify it,four sixth; known as a fraction or 4/6. Thats basically what it is so yea im not sure what your actually ASKING but yes it is a fraction or a decimal
thats already a decimal
assume fraction part is the bit thats less than one, example: say the number your changing is 8 1/2 (eight and one half) the bit your interested in is 1/2, if you divide the top of the fraction by the bottom you get 0.5, your decimal is then 8 + 0.5 = 8.5 lets say your decimal is 0.55, divide by 1.00, (same as 55/100 by moving the decimal point top and bottom ) theres your basic fraction, you can simplify this by dividing top and bottom by 5, giving 11/20, so result is eleven twentiethsType your answer here...
Expressed as a fraction, 37.5 percent is equal to 37.5/100 or 75/200. Expressed as a proper fraction in its simplest form, this is equal to 3/8 or three eighths.
In order to add a fraction to a variable the fraction must be converted to decimal as computers cannot understand fractions, thats why they have floating points. On the other hand you could produce an answer in decimal and then convert it into a fraction afterwards but it would be overly complicated for a program to do this. I suggest if you are seriously into this somewhat eccentric behaviour you should try the program Mathematica from Wolfram research which is very expensive.
0.64 as a fraction 0.64/1.00 NB place the decimal number over '1.00' The number of 'zeroes' after '1' is dependent on the number of digits in the decimal. So the three digit decimal would have three zeroes. 0.64/1.00 Cancel down the decimal point 064/100 Drop the trivial zero the the left of '64' 64/100 Cancel down by '2' 32/50 Cancel down by '2' again 16/25 is the fration equivalent for 0.64 This fraction will not cancel down any further , because there are no common factors between '16' and '25'. For a three digit decimal it is 0.064 /1.000 Hence 64/1000 32/500/ 16/250 8 / 125 Done!!!!
you really cant change nine to a fraction at least thats what I know
for example if the decimal is 6.6 then to make it a repeating decimal you have to write it with a line on top of the .6 thats repeating
Well the answer is 2/5 because of dividing so next time if u need to figure out a decimal to a fraction thing then u should divid thats what my teacher says.
