A compound fraction, also known as a mixed number, is a fraction which comprises a whole part and a fractional part.
The fractional part of the number is one tenth or 1/10
Mixed fractions comprise two parts: an integer part and a fractional part. The integer part is not altered when converting to an equivalent fraction: only the fractional part is.Multiply both the numerator (top) and the denominator (bottom) of the fractional part by any non-zero integer. You will have an equivalent fraction.
Let x = the number of minutes. x/60 will be the fractional part of an hour.
"percent" means for every hundred, or alternatively, out of 100. Finding some percentage of a number is multiplying that number by the fraction of the percentage over 100. eg to find 53% of a number, multiply by the fraction 53/100

An improper fraction has a numerator (the number above the line) that is larger than the denominator (the number below the line)If you have a whole number and a fraction then it is a matter of multiplying the denominator of the fractional part with the whole number and adding that to the numerator.Example6 3/5= 30/5 + 3/5 = 33/5
A [mixed] fractional number.
When multiplying a fraction by a whole number you would rewrite it as a mixed number or convert the whole number to that number over one!
The numerator of the fraction is multiplied by the whole number.
To divide a whole number by a fraction, you can rewrite the fraction as a whole number by multiplying the denominator by the whole number. Then, divide the resulting whole number by the numerator of the fraction. This process is equivalent to multiplying the whole number by the reciprocal of the fraction.

Finding 20 percent of a number is the same as multiplying a number by 0.2. In this instance, 0.2 x 58.76 = 11.752, or, expressed as a mixed fraction, 11 94/125.
Since the number is obviously non-repeating, we can make it into a fraction by multiplying both the numerator and denominator of 3.14/1 by ten until the numerator has no digits after the decimal place. Doing so, we get 314/100. We can reduce this fraction (by dividing numerator and denominator by 2, in this case) to: 157/50
