4 3/40 = 163/40
On many calculators there is a F <> D key which converts fractions to decimals & vice versa. It's on the TI-30Xa, a fairly common scientific calculator.
But assuming you know that .75 is 3/4, .075 is 1/10 x 3/4 = 3/40 and similarly
.0075 = 3/400 and so on.
