5 x 5% = on your calculator gives you 0.25 so it's 1/4 gallon or 1 quart
Think about this, 10% of 5 is 0.50 and then cut that in half again to give you 5% so it's 0.25.
You can also do a proportion. 5 gallons = ? gallon/ 100 % = 5%
- Sorry don't know how to draw a fraction bar here
Anyhow, I do a horizontal number 8 or the infiniti sign to do my proportions math- Just like a number eight race track for race cars.
Start line/ Finish line-
I want to finish where the question mark is so I start under it. I first multiply, 5 x 5 and like a race car driver go around the curve towards the 100 and divide. Then drive up to question mark which is you Finish line with the Answer. 0.25
I use this method when comparing anything.
If all fails, think in terms of MONEY! That helps.....
70 percent out of 5 gallons = 3.5 gallons70% of 5 gallons= 70% * 5 gallons= 70%/100% * 5 gallons= 35/10 or 3.5 gallons
5*0.14 = 0.7 gallons.
25 percent of 10 gallons is 2.5 gallons.
10 percent of 10 gallons is 1 gallon.
175 gallons.
70 percent out of 5 gallons = 3.5 gallons70% of 5 gallons= 70% * 5 gallons= 70%/100% * 5 gallons= 35/10 or 3.5 gallons
5*0.14 = 0.7 gallons.
0.2 gallons.
10 percent of 2 gallons = 1/5 gallons or 0.2 gallons10% of 2 gallons= 10% * 2 gallons= 10%/100% * 2 gallons= 2/10= 1/5 or 0.2 gallons
2 gallons, 10/5 = 2
well one gallon weighs approximately 8 pounds. so 5 percent of 898 gallons is 44.9 gallons. take 44.9 times 8 and you have 359.2 pounds.
5 percent of 30 gallons = 1.5 gallo ns = 5% of 30 gallo ns = 0.05 * 30 = 1.5 gallo ns
5% of 5 gallons = 5% * 5 = 0.05 * 5 = 0.25 gallons (1/4 gallon or 32 fluid ounces)
50 gallons @ 3% must be added.
1 gallon = 4 quarts5 gallons = 4 * 5 = 20 quarts1/20:= 0.05 * 100 %= 5%
25 percent of 10 gallons is 2.5 gallons.
