Multiply the denominator to the coefficient(Big number to the left). Then add the fraction numerator, and place the whole over the denominator.

Hence

([7 x 6] + 4) / 7 ->

(42 + 4) / 7 =>

46/7 The improper fraction.

NB THis method is good for all mixed number to improper fraction conversions.
