Four ninths of 108 is 48.
Good question, I had to think on that a bit. Four ninths is greater than three sevenths.
7 2/9 - 4 5/8 Step one , bring to improper(top heavy) fractions. 65/9 - 37/8 Step two bring to a common denominator (9 x 8 = 72) in this case, and equivalent numerators. Hence [65(8) - 37(9)] / 72 Step 3 Multiply out the curved brackets. [520 - 333 ] / 72 Step 4 subtract the numerators 187/72 Step 5 Reduced to a mixed number. 2 43/72 The answer!!!!! NB This fraction will NOT reduce any further as '43' is a prime number'. NNB Looking at the original coefficients of '7' & '4', when subtract make '3'. However, allowing for the fractional component, then '2' is a correct coefficient. Hope that helps!!!!!!
Seven ninths minus four ninths is 1/3.

3 times four ninths is 12 ninths
You have to first get the eighths and the ninths to the same fraction. Multiply 8 by 9 = 64ths. Then cross - multiply the top numbers by the opposite dividend. Ie. 7x9(ths) and 4x8(ths) and add them together = 63+32 = 95/64ths = 1 31/64ths
Eight and seven eighths.
No one-half equals four-eighths so that means seven-eighths is greater than one-half(four eighths)
