Place Sediment in a cylinder Vt = A=πr^2 of sediment

Fill a cylinder with water and weigh = Wm Water mass

Add water slowly to sediment until saturated

Weigh remaining water = Wmr Water mass remaining

Subtract weight of Wm - Wmr =Vv (volume of water added to the sediment)

Divide Vv by Vt

Multiply by 100
