"Common" means "same for both". There's no such thing as a "common" factor of
only one number. There has to be two or more of them, then a "common" factor is
a number that's a factor of all of them.
Also ... we don't think you'll ever get far enough to need this but we have to
mention it anyway ... if you're looking for the greatest common factor, then you're
only going to get one of them. If there were two greatest common factors, then
people would ask you which greatest common factor was greater than the other
greatest common factor.
