You have to have two or more numbers to calculate a GCF (assuming you mean greatest common factor)

For example.

The GCF of 100 and 220 is 20

Because it is the biggest number that goes into 100 AND 220

One way to solve that ( a more difficult way than just looking at it and seeing) is to factor it to its primes.

2*2*5*5 = 100

2*2*5*11 = 220

The two factorizations both include 2*2*5 Which equals 20.
