the three numbers that are less than 1000 and are perfect squares and perfect cubes are:
1, 64, 729
1 = 1 x 1 = 1 x 1 x 1
64 = 8 x 8 = 4 x 4 x 4
729 = 27 x 27 = 9 x 9 x 9

How do you find out square numbers?

generally you would multiply a number by itself, but i have found out a marvelous trick, and it is pretty easy since I am only a child, but starting with 1, if you add three, you get four, the next square number. then you add five to get nine the next square number, then seven to get sixteen and so on. So in simpler terms you take one and add three to get the next square number, then add five, then seven counting by odd numbers. Here is an equation. the bold numbers are the square numbers and the Italic numbers are the progressing odd numbers.1+3= 4+5= 9+7=16and so on.

What are the numbers that come after trillion?

After one trillion comes quadrillion, then quintillion, then sextillion, septillion, octillion and so on... The "tri"comes from latin and represents three. Then "quad" represents 4 and so on and so forth...

What contributions did carl friedrich gauss have?

Contributions:· At 24 years of age, he wrote a book called Disquisitines Arithmeticae, which is regarded today as one of the most influential books written in math.· He also wrote the first modern book on number theory, and proved the law of quadratic reciprocity.· In 1801, Gauss discovered and developed the method of least squares fitting, 10 years before Legendre, unfortunately, he didn't publish it.· Gauss proved that every number is the sum of at most three triangular numbers and developed the algebra of congruences.Famous Quote:'Ask her to wait a moment - I am almost done.' Apparently said while working, and being informed that his wife was dying.

What are three consecutive integers that equal 171?

I'm assuming this is supposed to say: "What are three consecutive integers that add together to equal 171?"This could also be "What are three consecutive integers that multiply together to equal 171?"I will do both.For the addition caseThink of "three consecutive integers" as the expressions x, x+1, and x+2. For any value of x, these three expressions will give that number, the number that is one greater than it, and the number that is two greater than it. So, the expression x+(x+1)+(x+2) is the general sum of three consecutive integers. Also possible is the expression x+(x-1)+(x-2), which are still three consecutive integers. So, this is a simple equation:x+(x+1)+(x+2)=171x+x+1+x+2=1713x+3=1713x=168x=168/3x=56Since x=56, x+1=57 and x+2=58So the three numbers are 56,57,and 58You can check this answer by adding the three numbers together. I'll bet they equal 171.For the multiplication case:Refer to the explanation for the addition case, but instead of the end expression being x+(x+1)+(x+2), it is now the multiplication of the three integers, meaning the expression is (x)(x+1)(x+2), so we get: (x)(x+1)(x+2)=171(x)(x2+3x+2)=171x3+3x2+2x=171I'll admit right now I don't know a simple way to solve this equation, which hints to me that addition was the intent of the question, but this equation can be solved by plotting the equationsy=x3+3x2+2xy=171and finding their point(s) of intersection. The value comes out to be approximately 4.6106, which means that the numbers 4.6106, 5.6106, and 6.6106 will multiply to equal approximately 171 (but not exactly). No exact answer is really possible here.

What numbers are squares and cubes of other numbers?

All non-negative numbers (including zero) are real-number squares of other numbers.All numbers (positive, negative, and zero) are cubes of other numbers."Numbers" generally refers to the set of all real numbers. 2 is the square of a real number, √2. √2 is not a whole number. It's not even rational. But it is a real number, and therefore meets the criteria specified. Even pi (π), an irrational number itself, is the square of another real number (√π). The only real numbers that cannot be squares are negative numbers, because squares of negative numbers are always positive, because the product of two negative numbers is always positive. This restriction, however, does not apply to cubes, because if you multiply three negative numbers by each other, the result is negative.Now, for the question you may have meant to ask: "What numbers are squares and cubes of whole numbers (integers)?"It would be impossible to list all squares and cubes of integers, because even when you limit it to integers, there is still an infinite number of numbers, and every one of them has both a square and a cube.Examples of integers, their squares, and their cubes.0, 0, 01, 1, 1(-1, 1, -1)2, 4, 8,(-2, 4, -8)3, 9, 274, 16, 645, 25, 12510, 100, 1000Only a very few numbers, such as 0, 1, and 64, are both squares and cubes of integers. Note that 64 is 43 and also 82. (see the related question)

How many three digit positive integers are square numbers?

102 = 100 which is the first possible three digit number that is a perfect square. 312 = 961 which is the last possible three digit number that is a perfect square. So there are 22 three digit positive numbers that are perfect squares.

What are three consecutive square numbers?

There are no three consecutive numbers that are squares. Otherwise, there are an infinite sets of squares of three consecutive numbers: for example, {1,4,9}, or {4,9,16} or {576, 625, 676}
