Either bus topology or star toplogy.
star good luck on chapter 12!
UTP cable would not usually be used in a bus topology. It is very common (even at that low speed) for a star.
The most common LAN topology is that of a "star." In a star topology, each computer, or "node", is connected to a central hub. This is more reliable than a more classical "ring" topology, because a node failing will not bring down the entire network. A bus topology is arguably more reliable, but has poorer performance.
Well, yes. Please correct your question, thanks!
Network Topology refers to the way that cables and other pieces of hardware connect to one another. There are four common "base" types of topologies: bus, ring, star, and mesh. There are other types as well, but these are referred to as "hybrid topologies." The most commonly used network topology is a hybrid topology called the Star Bus Topology.
bus topology.
The "star" topology is the most common.
The disadvantage of using a bus topology is that a break in any of the connecting cables will bring down the entire network segment. The disadvantage of using a star topology is limited to the central connecting device; it is breaks, the entire network goes down.
Bus topology LANs are very rare these days. It would be easier to use a star topology than a bus topology for a few devices.
