What is required is a cube with sides measuring cuberoot(5) metres = 1.71 m (approx). That is a bit more than 5 ft 7 inches (in case you can't visualise metric measures).

1 cubic yard = 764.554858 liters 1 cu meter = 1000 litres So 5 cubic yards = 5 x 764.554858 liters = 3822.77 liters Divide that by 1000 gives 3.823 cubic meters
