That is one ounce.
one ounce
one sixteenth
1 oz. One pound equals to 16 ounces and one ounce equals 0.06 of a pound. Also this relates only to solid (weight) ounces. There are two different kinds of ounces, ounces of weight/mass and ounces of volume (fluid). This can change when you are using the ounces to measure a non-liquid such as flour or sugar since the weight of dry items is not the same as their volume. An ounce of volume is called a "fluid ounce."
About one sixteenth of a pound.
1/16 × 1 = 1/16 = 0.0625 ---------------------------------------------------- You may have missed off a unit, as in one sixteenth of one POUND (weight) → 1/16 × 1lb = 1 oz (1 ounce).
one sixteenth of a pound
A sixteenth is a fraction of a whole, meaning it is a 16th part of something. The weight of a sixteenth would depend on the total weight or quantity being divided into 16 equal parts. For example, if you have 1 pound and divide it into 16 parts, each sixteenth would weigh approximately 0.0625 pounds.
A fluid ounce is a unit of liquid measure equal to 1/16th of a US pint. An ounce is a measure of weight equal to 1/16th of a pound.
one sixteenth
that was irrelevant.. about 5000kcal in about one pound of FAT (not 'body weight')
English is so strange. One ounce, as in one sixteenth of a pound, is a weight. A fluidounce (no space) is a measure of volume/capacity and is different altogether. The US is way behind in getting on board with the metric system.
