A fraction looks like a pair of numbers, separated by a line. Usually, the two numbers will be on top of each other, eg: 3

however it can also appear like this: ¾, or like this: 3/4. These would be said “Three over four” or “Three divided by four”. A fraction is simply another way of writing a division, in this case 3 ÷ 4.
