In a parallelogram:
the opposite sides are parallel and congruent,
the opposite angles are congruent,
the consecutive angles are supplementary,
the diagonals bisect each other, and
a diagonal divides it into two congruent triangles.


to be simple both sides are congruent and both sides are parallel
