How high should the light switch box be off the floor?

The top of the breaker box cannot be more than 6 ft 7 in off the floor. No defining height is mandated from floor to panel box base. Defer to common sense when placing the panel box. Make it easy to see and read the top circuit breaker and location identifications of the remaining breakers.

How much area will a 2 tube 4' fluorescent light fixture cover?

Depends on how high it is off the floor. Make sure you buy a T8 and not a T12. The T8 puts out more light and will operate at a lower temperture. On a normal 8' ceiling a 2 bulb T8 will cover around 36 square feet of space. If the room is pretty large then an 8 foot 2 bulb HO light is a much better choice.

Why is the capacitor used in tube light?

Starters in tube light uses capacitors to produce a momentary high voltage of 400V due to discharging of capacitor. This momentary high voltage will start the gaseous discharge to priduce light by initial flickering . now,if capacitor is not used , the power supply from the main cannot start the gaseous discharge .

How many outlets and light can you put on a 15amp circuit breaker?

A 30-A outlet would be for a specialized installation, such as for a welder or other high-wattage device. You would typically have a single outlet, although you could certainly have multiple outlets for convenience, as long as there were procedures to prohibit use of more than one at a time.Under no circumstances should any HOUSEHOLD receptacles (15 or 20-Amp) be installed on any branch protected by a 30-amp breaker, as this would cause a fire and electrocution hazard.

How does ignitor in sodium vapour lamp work?

Similiar to a flourescent light. The ignitor provides a high voltage potential to excite the sodium gas within the bulb.
