I think you mean 2 HP pump. I am assuming a 220 To 240 volt supply and that should equate to about a 12 amp current. All my pumps use only a 30 amp breaker and 10 AWG wire.

Can a 220 Volt well motor be added to a 200 amp box or does it need its own box?

The well pump breaker is installed in two slots in your breaker box. You then run the correct size cable for the amperage of the pump to the area where the pressure tank is located. install a breaker or disconnect on the wall near the pressure tank and then connect the low pressure switch to the disconnect. Connect the pump to the low pressure switch.

How do you install an electric pool pump I've already hooked up the wiring and it's been working fine for three month's. Then the breaker tripped now it keeps tripping when I try to turn pump back on?

=== === Any socket outlets or wiring to pumps, etc must be protected by a GFCI, not only by the main circuit breaker on the house AC power supply panel.Sounds like there is water somewhere in the circuit and that is causing the GFCI to keep tripping every time you press the RESET button. The GFCI is doing its job to protect you and your family from electrocution.Turn off all power at the main panel and then check all wiring, junction boxes, outlets, etc. in the circuit for water. Every part of the circuit must be allowed to dry thoroughly before the GFCI will allow you to reset it. Then be sure to protect any connections in the circuit from getting any water spray or splashes in future.Really this work should be done by a licensed electrician who will know exactly where to check and what to do to make your electric pool pump - and any socket outlets in the same circuit - safe to use in future. Is the distance from the panel to the pool very far or long, A ground fault breaker is looking for a difference in potential the longer the distance the more sensitive they become. What you may have to do is put a ground fault outlet by the pump and put the wiring in a regular breaker. IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.If you do this work yourself, always turn off the powerat the breaker box/fuse panel BEFORE you attempt to do any work AND always use a meter or voltage indicator to insure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.

What is more efficient to run a pool pump on 120 Volt or 240 Volt?

240

Air conditioner blows circuit breaker when heating?

If you have a heat pump and the breaker blows in heat cycle then you probably also have auxiliary electric heat which is drawing too much current because of a faulty heater element.

Do i need to switch circuit breaker since i went from 115V well pump to 230V well pump it is also a higher HP pump but pressure is lower than before?

The 230v breaker is 2-pole, The 115v is only single-pole so YES you need a new breaker. DON'T use 2 single-pole breakers instead. The well pump will run to the pressure setting of the pressure switch controlling it, regardless of HP. The difference might be in the size of the pump in flow rating, I.E. a 1/2 HP pump rated at 10gpm @ 70 psi won't perform the same as a 3/4 HP pump rated at 20 gpm @ 50 psi. Check the pump curve and pressure switch setting. The pressure switch for the new pump will need both power leads connected to the switch (1 lead per contact set), not 1 wire as the 115v motor was.

Why does my pool pump keep tripping the breaker?

Your pool pump may be tripping the breaker due to an electrical overload, a faulty pump motor, or a short circuit. It is important to have a professional electrician or pool technician inspect and repair the issue to ensure safe and efficient operation of your pool pump.

What size in amperage circuit breaker should be used for a pool pump?

The size of the circuit breaker for a pool pump should be determined by the pump's current draw. The breaker should be sized to accommodate the pump's full load amperage with a 125% safety margin. Most pool pumps typically require a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker.

How do you ground a pool filter?

We have a large filter pump on our pool. When we installed the above ground pool, we put a in ground pump on it to keep it excessively clean. We had our neighbor, an electrical engineer, install a 220 v circuit breaker in a circuit box next to the pool which is also attached to the breaker in the house. Most pool installation companies feel that this is unnecessary which is what I was told when I which to a specialty electrical supply co. The part costs $250 and fortunately was installed for free. I wouldn't have it any other way. Any static or close electrical storm activity trips the breaker. Last summer, lightning stroke our tree which was 15 feet from the pool. The tree blew up but the pool pump was just fine. Hope this helps.

How do you prevent water from collecting in your pool during construction?

Install a tarp to cover pool construction area. Install small sump pump at bottom of pool area

Can you use a 240 volt pool pump on normal house power?

No, a 240 volt pool pump requires a dedicated 240 volt power source, which is typically found in larger appliances or machinery settings. Regular house power is usually 120 volts, and trying to use a 240 volt pool pump on this type of power could lead to damage to the pump or potential safety hazards.

Why is my pool pump not receiving power even though the breaker has not tripped?

There could be several reasons why your pool pump is not receiving power even though the breaker has not tripped. Some possible causes include a faulty connection, a problem with the pump motor, a malfunctioning timer or control panel, or a wiring issue. It is recommended to consult a professional electrician or pool technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

What is the furthest distance from the pool that you can install the pool pump and filter?

I would say 10 yards easy. if the ground is flat.. if the pump is lower that the pool ? it may take a bigger pump ..use pvc. and never use tread tape on a plastic pump ! your pool pump repair guy in longwood fl.

Why wont the pool pump work?

Is the power on, do you have a breaker, is the water level up, there are so many reasons for a pump not to work more information is needed.

What is the proper way to safely install and connect a pool pump plug to ensure efficient operation of the pool pump system?

To safely install and connect a pool pump plug, follow these steps: Make sure the pump is turned off and unplugged before starting. Position the pump near a grounded electrical outlet. Plug the pump into the outlet using a properly rated extension cord if needed. Ensure the plug is securely connected and not damaged. Turn on the pump and check for any unusual noises or vibrations. Monitor the pump for efficient operation and adjust as needed. By following these steps, you can safely install and connect a pool pump plug for efficient operation of the pool pump system.

Can you install a pool pump filtration sanitation etc etc on a lower ground level than the pool itself?

Sure you can but make sure you install valves on the the inlet before the pump and on the outlet after the pump. So if ever you need to do any maintenance you can close off the valves to stop water running out.
