Polygon
A polygon is a closed plane figure composed of several line segments that are joined together. A one hundred sided polygon is called a hectogon or a hecatontagon.
A simple closed figure formed by line segments joined together. The point where the sides meet is called the vertex (vertices, plural). A regular polygon is formed when all the sides are equal. Polygons are named by the number of sides and angles they contain.
The sides of an angle are never segments....they are segments only if the sides are joined at some extent.
12 of then but if they are joined together in the form of a 6 sided hexagon then 6 endpoints are needed.
The only rectilinear figure is a triangle, or one composed of several triangles joined together.
It is a polygon that has three or more straight lines joined together at each vertex.

Polyhedra (singular: polyhedron)
Any closed polygon could be made using the descriptions above.

Triangle: A figure formed by exactly three (non-colinear) points joined by line segments is a triangle. A figure formed by three or more points is generally called a polygon. Of course, if all of the points are co-linear then there is not much of a figure. A polygon has 3 or more sides.
Three or more line segments joined together by vertices.
In most general terms, a side is a line segment that is part of the figure in question. It is connected at either end to another line segment, which, in turn, may or may not be connected to still other line segments. A line segment joined at either end by two others which, in turn, were joined together would make a triangle. And more figures can be made by continuing to add line segments.
It means that it is joined up at the end i.e. there are no gaps in it.
Any polygon is.
A graph that displays data by using points joined together by line segments.
RNA segments joined together by spliceosomes are called exons. Spliceosomes remove introns from pre-mRNA molecules and ligate exons together to produce a mature mRNA transcript that can be translated into a protein. This process is known as RNA splicing.
