Use some of the properties of parallelograms. Any of the following properties are sufficient to ensure that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram:

  • Both pairs of opposite segments are parallel.
  • Both pairs of opposite segments have the same length (i.e., if you name the sides a, b, c, and d, sides a and c - which are opposite - have the same length; sides b and d - which are opposite - also have the same length between themselves).
  • Both pairs of opposite angles have the same measure.
  • There are probably other possibilities, too.
