Pick two points on the line as far away form each other as possible, (x1, y1), and x2,y2).

Slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

You can also use slope-intercept method with the formula y = mx + b,

where x and y make up a point on the line, m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept. Let's say you have a point (7,4), and a y-intercept of 6. Plug the known values into the equation: 4 = (m)(7) + 6, and solve for m.

(m)(7) = -4 + 6

(m)(7) = 2

(m)/(7) = 2/7

m = 2/7
