If a room is 24 feet long 18 feet wide and 9 feet high how many square yards of wallpaper are needed to paper the four walls of the room?

To calculate the total square yards of wallpaper needed to cover the four walls, first find the total surface area of the walls. The walls will have a total area of (2(24 \times 9) + 2(18 \times 9) = 648) square feet. Since 1 square yard is equivalent to 9 square feet, divide 648 square feet by 9 to get 72 square yards of wallpaper needed.
