Surface area of a cube = side * side * 6
SA = s*s*6

With the SA = 54, we get
54 / 6 = s*s
9 = s* s

s = square root of 9 = 3

Volume of a cube = s * s * s
3 cubed = 27

27 Cubic inches

What is the difference between surface area and volume?

Surface area would be measured in square inches or square feet. This is the area of a flat surface, like a desk top. Volume is the inside area, like inside a balloon. This would be measured in cubic inches or feet (inches x inches x inches).

If you have a volume of 80 cubic inches but a surface of less than 132 square inches what would the dimension be of a rectangular prism?

What unit would measure the surface area in inches?

square inches

If a cube had a surface area of 12 square feet what would be the volume?

The volume would be: 2.828 cubic feet.

What is the volume of a prism that is 4 inches in depth and 7 inches in height and 8 inches in width?

The volume of that prism would be 224 square inches. To calculate this you do:Multiply base times height (width in your case), this equattion is 7x8=56. Now you have your areaNext multiply the area (which was 56 square inches) by the depth (4 square inches). 56x4=224. Your volume is now 224 square inches (or inches squared)

What is the height of a square prism that has a volume of 1568 inches and base edges of 14 inches?

Area of base is 14 x 14 = 196 square inches and since volume is 1568, the height would be (1568/196) = 8 inches

What dimentions do you need to get the same surface area as volume?

The depth would have to have a value of 1. For example, a slab 60" long by 24" wide by 1" deep would have the same surface area as volume. Examples: Area = LxW (60x24=1440 sq inches). Volume = LXWXD (60x24x1=1440 cubic inches). In this case, the volume has the same value as the surface area

What is the formula to work out the maximum volume of a folded square?

A square is two dimentional and has an area (side X side = # of square inches) A square has no volume unless it is three dimentional, in which case, it would be a cube and not a square.

What is the volume of a 9 inch tube is how many square inches?

We would have to know the length of the tube.

What is square footage of 36 inches x 80 inches?

You are asking for square footage, but you are giving enough information for a measure of volume in cubic inches. Given a regular rectangular shape, 48 inches by 42 inches would give you 2016 square inches. Multiplying this by 38 inches would give you 76,608 cubic inches.

What is the area if the volume is 169 cubic inches and the height is 13 inches?

Presumably by area you mean surface area. In order to answer this, we would need to know the shape in question. If it is a cylinder, rectangle, or something similar with a linear shape to it, then the answer, and if you are only looking for the area of the top face, then the answer would be 13 square inches, as the volume would be that surface area times it's height. 13 * 13 = 169, hence the answer. If it's any other type of shape, then we can not give an answer until you provide more details.

How many inches for gallon?

Gallons is a liquid measurement and inches is a solid measurement so there is no such thing as inches in a gallon but there is square inches in a gallon which is completely diffrent. Cubic inches measure volume so a gallon would be measured in cubic inches rather than square inches. 231 cubic inches is equal to one gallon. Answer2 The first para in the above answer is confusing because it says "there is square inches in a gallon". Unfortunately, there are NOT square inches in a gallon - they are CUBIC inches (a measure of volume, not area)
