since one parallel lines is perpendicular to another line, the other parallel line is perpendicular to the line as well. so the two would not be parallel, only the original two.

Can perpendicular lines be parallel lines?

It is impossible for parallel lines to be perpendicular. Perpendicular lines are intersecting lines, meaning that they cross each other. Parallel lines, on the other hand, are lines that never meet, no matter how far they are extended in either direction. So intersecting lines (which includes perpendicular lines) and parallel lines are exact opposites. Parallel lines will never meet or cross; they cannot be perpendicular.

Can perpendicular lines also be parallel lines?

Perpendicular lines can not be parallel to each other but they can be to other lines.

Does a hexagon have perpendicular or parallel lines?

A hexagon has parallel lines.

Are the lines of latitude of parallel or perpendicular to each other?

They are parallel to each other.

Do perpendicular lines sometimes parallel?

Perpendicular lines intesect each other at 90 degrees and are not normally parallel to each other unless as in a square or rectangle.

If two parallel lines are perpendicular to the same line do the lines intersect?

the parallel lines never intersect each other but they both intersect the line they are perpendicular to

If two lines are perpendicular to the same line then the two lines are parallel?

They are parallel to each other.

Is two lines connected by their perpendicular is parallel?

Parallel lines run in the same direction. If they are intersected by one line and that line is perpendicular to both, then it proves that the lines run parallel to each other.

What is a pentagon and a rhombus perpendicular lines and parallel?

A pentagon can have 0, 1 or 2 pairs of parallel lines. It can have 0 to 4 lines perpendicular to an adjacent line. A rhombus must have two pairs of parallel lines and none of them may be perpendicular to any other.

Why two lines cannot be both parallel and perpendicular?

Since two parallel lines never intersect, they cannot be perpendicular to each other because perpendicular lines intersect and form angles of 90⁰.

What shape has parallel lines and perpendicular lines?

A square and a rectangle have perpendicular and parallel lines. The two side lines extending upwards from the base line are perpendicular to the base line. The line extending from each of the side lines across the top is perpendicular to the side lines. The top line is also parallel to the base line, and the side lines are also parallel to each other.
