1/2 base X height....
In a right triangle the base and height are the two short sides
In your case, base is 8, but to find height is a bit harder....
Draw your triangle and drop a line from the top point directly to the base. To calculate this line take one of the smaller right triangles and use it with the Pythagorean Theorem (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_theorem )... "The square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides."
In your case we know the hypotenuse (8) and one side (4) and we need the other side (the missing side is the height)...
82 = 42 X height2
64 = 16 X height2
64-16 = height2
48 = height2
Square root of 48 = height
6.93 = height
Then plug this back in to
1/2 base X height
1/2 X 8 X 6.93 = 27.72
If i have a 54 square and 20 are shaded what percent is that
I don't think you are giving quite enough information. Are you taking a test? This came from a book or test. If the parallelogram is a rectangle, the base is 16. Is the figure a rectangle?
You seem to be referring to the Pearson chi-square test-of-fit statistic. To do this you need not only the observed values in a frequency table (which you have) but the expected (or theoretical) values for that table.In practical situations the expected values are obtained by making some educated guess about what distribution the observed values came from, estimating the parameters of that distribution and then using the estimated distribution to obtain the required expected values to calculate the chi-square.In short, you need more information.

I am a designer / estimator for a general Contractor in Charlotte NC. I've just finished estimating a screened porch addition @ approx. $68 per square foot. Another one I did last week came to $97 per foot. It depends on the materials to be used and the overall size. A smaller porch would be much higher per square foot than a larger one due to the fact that the same amount of sub contractors would be involved but each would have a higher per foot rate for a smaller job thus driving the average $ per foot up. This link has an excel spreadsheet that is very user friendly for generating estimates. Just plug in the info and let it do the work. It even breaks down pricing if you do it yourself vs. hiring a contractor. Check it out.http://www.composite-decks.com/GeoDeck-samples-literature.htm
The red square came to serve as Moscow's primary marketplace in the early ages.
Don't forget the word "square" before "inches". Otherwise the question is wrong. The area of 1 square inch is 0.0007716049 square yards. The area of 1 square yard is 1296 square inches.
From what I can tell, fabric is usually converted by using a factor of 18. So, 1 yard of fabric = 18 square feet of fabric. Note that this rule ONLY applies to fabric. For almost all other materials (carpet, tile, wallpaper, etc) you would use SQUARE yards and square feet, and this uses a factor of 9 (ie. 9 sqft =1 sqyd). Hope this helps. -Purchasing Agent for hotel group
They came from geometry. If you have a square whose sides are 1 unit long then its diagonal is sqrt(2) units long.
x2+3i=0 so x2=-3i x=square root of (-3i)=square root (-3)square root (i) =i(square root(3)([1/(square root (2)](1+i) and i(square root(3)([-1/(square root (2)](1+i) You can multiply through by i if you want, but I left it since it shows you where the answer came from. Note: The square root of i is 1/square root 2(1+i) and -1/square root of 2 (1+i) to see this, try and square them!
Area is usually length times width. In a square the length and width are the same, so the area is one side squared. It's where the word came from.
place jems in this order square circle triangle go threw door and there should be an earthquake go back out the way you came in and should be different
He came up with the infamous Pythagoras' Theorem, which states that the square of the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides: a2 = b2 + c2 ; where a is the hypotenuse.
Justin estimated 56 square cm. The actual area is 57.76 square cm. Justin came pretty close.
Disneyland came first. In fact Walt Disney has a suite in New Orleans Square where he stayed.
He came up with the Pythagoras theoremIn a right angled triangle the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the squares on the other two sides.Builders make use of the theorem to make corners square. If you have piece of rope or chain 12 metres long and make a triangle on the ground where one side is 3 metres , another 4 and the longest 5 then a right angle will be formed between the 3 and 4 metre lengths.
