the probability is........................................................................................................................not certain but ,not terrible.

=====================================================

Another contributor added:

The area of a circle is pi R2.

Area of the whole board = pi 82 = 64 pi

Area of the bull's-eye = pi 22 = 4 pi

Bull's-eye as a fraction of the whole board = (4 pi) / (64 pi) = 1/16 = 0.0625 = 6.25 %

If the darts are launched randomly by a machine, then 6.25% of those that hit the board

at all may be expected to hit the bull's-eye.

But, as Murphy has so amply demonstrated, if the darts are launched skillfully and cunningly, by

a human being who takes careful aim, lines up his shot, and takes pains to toss the dart directly

toward the center of the bull's-eye, then the probability is most certainly less.
