Best Answer

When two shapes have proportionally equivalent lengths and angles, they are geometrically similar.

For example, take a triangle with sides of length 3, 4, and 5.

Another triangle with side lengths 6, 8, and 10 would be geometrically similar to it because its angles are the same and its side lengths are proportional.

of course you can

How is one circle different to another?

One circle is different from another only in radius or location. All circles are geometrically similar, meaning that you can translate and scale any circle onto any other circle.

If the sun is hollow how many Earth's can fit inside?

Well, the Sun has about 109 times Earth's diameter, and both are geometrically similar (both are approximately spherical), therefore you can take the cube of 109. A bit over a million.

How are similar figures and scale drawings related?

Similar polygons, have all angles the congruent, and the sides are proportional: if side A, for example, is two times side B, then a similar polygon will also have the corresponding 'side A' two times corresponding 'side B'.In the same way - Scale drawings have everything in the drawing 'geometrically similar' to the actual object or building or land area (as in a scale map) that they represent.
