Equilateral and isoceles triangles
Well, isn't a rectangular prism a geometric shape? And isn't a brick a rectangular prism? see this is one way that geometric shapes are used in architecture.
The use of geometric shapes in painting is used in abstract art. Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in depiction of imagery in art.

Restate the question: How many shapes are there? The answer is really that a geometric figure can have an infinite number of shapes. The shapes used in geometry include triangle, square, rectangle, parallelogram, rhombus, trapezoid, kite, circle, ellipse, parabola. Then you have pentagon, hexagon. heptagon, octagon, and so forth.
Coplanar means existing on the same plane. It is used in geometry to refer to points or shapes that all exist on one geometric plane.

The polyhedron, upon which most geodesic domes are based, is the icosahedron. The icosahedron has 20 equilateral triangle faces. By subdividing the icosahedron face into smaller triangles, then "pushing" the triangle vertices outward (to the surface of a circumscribing sphere,) a more-complex triangulated polyhedron can be produced -- a "geodesic" sphere, or dome. By subdividing the icosahedron face into greater-and-greater numbers of smaller-and-smaller triangles, more complex geodesic spheres/domes are produced.
where shapes are used to create art
You use shapes in architecture, and the shapes you use are geometric ones.
It was Leonardo da Vinci who used geometric shapes to represent nature and human forms. Leonardo was an Italian polymath.
circle
it is a strip used to make geometric shapes
Hyperbolic cosines, parabolas, semicircles, triangles are some shapes.
