The area of a rectangle is found by using the formula A=LxW (Area equals length times width)
The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying the length by the width - the result is square measure. A rectangle 6 inches by 8 inches would be 48 square inches in area. (6x8=48)
Example
A=LxW
A=4x5
A=20
Rectangle area = (rectangle width) x (rectangle height)
A = lw Area of a rectangle = length times width
The area of rectangle is : 45.0
The area of rectangle is : 72.0
The area of rectangle is : 18.0
Rectangle area = (rectangle width) x (rectangle height)
A = lw Area of a rectangle = length times width
The area of rectangle is : 35.0
It's half the area of a rectangle
The area of rectangle is : 168.0
The area of rectangle is : 30.0
The area of rectangle is : 48.0
The area of rectangle is : 45.0
Area of rectangle with part of the shape missing = area of rectangle (lengthxwidth)-area of missing part.
The area of rectangle is : 72.0
Nobody invented the area of a rectangle. A rectangle would have had an area even if human beings had never existed!
Area of a rectangle: a = l * w
