the actual way to find the answer is to multiply length x width x heightand then you will get your answer.

A "rectangle" has no volume so it cannot be calculated. A rectangle is by definition a two dimensional object. Only a three dimensional object has volume. Using the formula above you can see this because while a rectangle has length and width, it has no height. If you plug zero in for a rectangle's height in the above formula the result is zero, because every number no matter how large if multiplied by zero is zero.

L x W x H = Volume

L x W x 0 = Volume

0 = Volume
