You can see this by realizing that you can divide the polygon into 15 triangles by drawing lines from from a single vertex to each of the other vertices - and each triangle will have an interior sum of 180°. The lines to the vertices adjacent to the chosen vertex will be superimposed onto the existing sides,and thus you only wind up with 15 triangles.
