A 30-60-90 right triangle is one in which the three angles of the triangle 30, 60 and 90 degrees. The length of the sides of such a triangle have the ratio 1:2:square root of 3. The 1 is opposite the 30 degree angle, the 2 is opposite the 60 degree angle and the square root of 3 is opposite the 90 degree angle.
Unit of Measure - Angles are measured in degrees or radians. A degree represents 1/360 of a circle. Each degree is subdivided into 60 minutes. And each minute has 60 seconds. The basic tools used to measure angles are a protractor, compass and set square. Protractor - The protractor is a semi-circular instrument with the degrees marked from 0 to 180. There are two sets of markings; the inner scale goes from right to left and the outer scale from left to right. Compass - A compass is a hinged set of arms. One arm has a pointed end and the other holds a pencil. The compass is used to measure and construct angles. Set Square and Sextant - Set squares are of two kinds--the 90-45-45 degree angle and the 30-60-90 degree angle. They are measuring tools used in drafting and engineering. A sextant is an ancient navigating tool.

1 minute = 60 seconds1 degree = 60 minutes = 3,600 seconds
Assuming the set square has angles of 30o 60o and 90o.... You can draw a right angle without any problem. That leaves 60 degrees left to draw so - place the 60 degree corner on the junction of the 90 degrees and draw another line. This gives you a total angle of 150.

A set square? Only good for 30, 45, 60 amd 90 degree angles, though.
1. it useful in geometry 2. used for drawing a straight line It's used for drawing 30, 60 and 90 degree angles. There is also a version for 45 degree angles.

In the Masonic symbol, the compass is typically set at 60 degrees. This is significant as it represents the importance of balance and moderation in one's actions and decisions. The compass, along with the square, symbolizes the moral and ethical boundaries that Freemasons strive to uphold in their lives.
