Yes, it is true. I looked through the computer, and it says that bhaskaracharya was the one. I also looked it up in 5 books from the library. It says on wikipedia a man called Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Mūsā ibn Shākir (before 803 - 873) who specialized in astronomy, engineering, geometry and physics, first came up with the idea of what we now call gravity.
