No. We use two different kinds of ounce. The "fluid ounce" is a unit of volume.
8 of them make 1 cup, 32 of them make 1 quart, and 128 of them make 1 gallon.
The other "ounce" is a unit of weight (force). 16 of them make one pound.
These two kinds of "ounce" are completely different things.
Aren't you glad we don't have to struggle with the complicated and confusing
metric system.
16 oz = 1 lb → 7oz = 7 ÷ 16 lb = 7/16 lb = 0.4375 lb ≈ 0.44 lb
There are 16 oz in 1 lb, so 128 oz=8 lb.
16 oz = 1 lb 32 oz = 2 lb 48 oz = 3 lb
because 1 pound equals 16 oz
16oz = 1lb 36 oz = 36/16 = 2¼lb or 2.25 lb or 2 lb 4 oz.
16 oz = 1 lb → 7oz = 7 ÷ 16 lb = 7/16 lb = 0.4375 lb ≈ 0.44 lb
16 oz
16 oz = 1 lb

16 oz Algebraic Steps / Dimensional Analysis Formula 1 lb*16 oz 1 lb=16 oz
16 oz per 1 lb, so: 31 lb x 16 oz/lb = 496 oz
160 oz = 10 lb since 16 oz = 1 lb
There are 16 oz in 1 lb, so 128 oz=8 lb.
16 oz = 1 lb 32 oz = 2 lb 48 oz = 3 lb
1 pt equals 16 fl oz.
because 1 pound equals 16 oz
1 lb = 16 oz 2 lb = 32 oz 3 lb = 48 oz 6 lb = 96 oz
