Without math, all you know is that things pull toward each other.
If you want to know any more details, you have to usemath.

That's kind of the same way math is involved with a lot of other subjects . . . .

Without math, you only know that putting more gas in the car costs more,
but you don't know how much.

Without math, you only know that driving faster gets you there sooner,
but you don't know how far, how fast, or how soon.

Without math, you only know that you have to mix a lot of things together to make a cake,
but you don't know how much of anything.

Without math, there aren't too many jobs you can do. You definitely can't be a scientist or an
engineer. You can't be a carpenter, because you can't measure anything or estimate lumber.
You can't paint houses, because you don't know how much paint or what size ladder you need,
and you can't tell the customer how long it'll take you to finish their house. And you can't drive
a taxi, because you can't count cash or make change.

Without math, you only know that you have to work longer to make more money,
but you have no idea how much for how long.

Without math, you only know that you can't pay for the house today,
but you don't know when or how.

Without math, you know that you need to mix some powder and some water to make the baby's formula.
But if you don't want her to starve, then you'd better get help from somebody who can do the math, because
you have no idea of how much.

Without math, chances are after a while you don't even know how old you are.
You don't know how to work it out, and there's no way to find out unless there's
someone still around who you can ask.

You can live without math ... if you want to call that 'living'.
