Dilated pupils are bigger, and constrictred pupils are smaller.
"2 cm into labor at 40 weeks" means that a pregnant woman is 40 weeks along in her pregnancy and her cervix has dilated to 2 centimeters as she begins the labor process. This dilation indicates that her body is starting to prepare for childbirth, but she is not yet fully dilated (which is 10 cm) for delivery. Being 40 weeks pregnant typically signifies that she is at or near her due date.
dilation
If line ( l ) is dilated by a scale factor of 3 from point ( O ), the resulting line will also be parallel to line ( l ) and will maintain the same slope. Since the slope of line ( l ) is 3, the slope of the dilated line will also be 3. Therefore, the dilated line will not change its steepness or direction, remaining parallel to the original line.
Its linear dimensions increase by that whole number.
A woman who is 8 centimeters dilated has 2 centimeters left to go.
Typically, a woman needs to be at least 1-2 centimeters dilated for her membranes to be swept. This process involves the healthcare provider inserting a gloved finger into the cervix to separate the amniotic sac from the uterine wall, which may help induce labor.
The cervix is considered fully dilated at 10 centimeters.
oh my god who the hell cares
Shouldn't you be in a hospital and not asking this question here?
If you are between 2 and 3 centimeters dilated, you are very close to active labor. You should walk around and stay close to the doctor's office or hospital.
the mucous plug can fall out any where after the woman is dilated 2cm it also may never come out and the doctors will have to break the water them-selves.
Nothing really. You are just 3 cm closer to getting to 10. listen for them to tell you your membranes are bulging...which means your water is about to break...mine broke at 5 cm...but I suppose everyone is different. Good Luck
It could be later today it could be 3 weeks from now. Just because you are dilated to something doen'nt mean labor is anytime soon...sorry. I have been dilated to a 3 for 2 weeks now :(
Women who are more than 1.5 in (4 cm) dilated, who have already experienced rupture of membranes, or whose fetus has died are ineligible for cerclage.
Means your 4cm dilated and they can see your water through your cervix. So it can break any time. Just left labor and delivery tonight I'm also 4cm and bulging with baby number 3!!
you will know....you get the urge that you need to push.
