NO it si like addition and subtraction IT DOESN'T WORK. Since Multiplication is somehow Addition made easier (4x2=8 ; 4+4=8), it can't be because Division is more of Subtraction and somehow to simplify answers at some cases. 1 x a = a

a / 1 = a

Addition and multiplication

What is the identity element of an identity property of multiplication is?

The identity property of multiplication is that you can take any number and multiply it by one , for example : 7 x 1 = 1 x 7 = 7 Ok i hope my hard work helped you guys out , Thank you !!!!!!!!!!

What is the property that allows you move the parentheses in a problem and still get the same answer?

There is no property which allows you to do that in all cases. It is only possible in the case of the associative property for addition and multiplication. It does not work for subtraction or division.

Do architects use math operations of multiplication and and division in their work?

Yes they use multiplication and division to measure geometry

Why you can use multiplication to check a division problem?

multiplication is the Inverse operationof division so it could be used to check my work

Why doesn't associative property not work for multiplication?

it does

What does Associative Property not work for which operations?

It does not work with subtraction nor division.

Does the multiplication property work when the radicands are rational expressions?

true

Does the commutative property work on division?

No, it does not.

The Associative Property does not work for which operations?

Subtraction and division. While 2+ (3+4) = 2+ (4+3), the subtraction 2-(3-4) ≠ 2-(4-3). One yields 3 while the other yields 1. Similarly, multiplication has this property while division does not.

Can you apply the associative property to subtraction?

No, the associative property only applies to addition and multiplication, not subtraction or division. Here is an example which shows why it cannot work with subtraction: (6-4)-2=0 6-(4-2)=4

Give an example showing that the commutative property does not hold for division of whole numbers?

Here is an example: 4/2 = 2 Commutative property is when you can move numbers around in a problem, and it wouldn't change. This is why it doesn't work in division 2/4 = 1/2 The commutative property applies to only addition and multiplication. It does not apply to division or subtraction. More examples: Addition: 2 + 3 = 3 + 2 = 5 Subtraction: 2 - 3 = -1, 3 - 2 = 1 Division: (see above) Multiplication: 3(5) = 5(3) = 15
