if the fraction is 25/100 that means that is is 25% out of 100% so all you do is take the top number and put a % on the end of it. 1/100 = 1%. If the bottom number is not 100 then you simply reduce or increase the numbers until it is EX. 60/300= 20/100= 20%.

Another way to do this is to divide the numerator of the fraction (the number on the top or left side) by the denominator of the fraction (the number on the bottom or right side) and then multiply that result by 100.

An example is as follows:

1. What is the percentage equivalent of 1/4?

2. Divide the numerator (1) by the denominator (4). The result is .25

3. Multiply .25 by 100. the result is 25, or 25%.

4. Thus, the percentage equivalent of 1/4 is 25%.

This method removes the need to change the denominator to 100, which might be more difficult in an example such as 13/299.
