Make sure you have a tape measure that is marked in centimetres and is at least 1 metre long. Then ask them to put their finger on the number that represents their age in years. Then, very carefully remove their finger and read the number at the position where the finger was.

This will not work with very young people since they may not be able to point correctly - seek adult help. It will also not work with very old people. You may have to get a longer tape measure or ask them if they are over 100 years old and, if so, to subtract 100 from their age.
