where m is the slope, and b is the y intercept.

example: y=3x+4

compare:y=mx+b

After u have the equation, you can graph it by knowing the slope and the y intercept.

if u want to know that certain points are in the equation, ex- (3,4), you would plot them in the x and y place and see if the two sides are equal.
