For the perimeter add up all the lengths of the sides.
The area is a bit more complicated as it depends upon the shape. However, by dividing any shape up into smaller shapes, the area for which can be found (eg rectangles: area = length × width; triangles: area = ½ × base × height), the area of the original shape can be calculated as the sum of these areas.

To find the perimeter you add and to find the area we multiply.
Perimeter = 2*Area/Apothem.
you divide the area by four and now you can find the perimeter
Perimeter = 4*Side so that Side = Perimeter/4 Area of a rhombus = Side * Altitude so Altitude = Area/Side = Area/(Perimeter/4) = 4*Area/Perimeter
In general you cannot find the perimeter of any shape if only the area is given.
