To find the probability of something happening orsomething else happening, you add together the probability of each happening, and then subtract the probability of both happening.

For instance, the probability of rolling greater than 4 on a dice is 1/3. You could roll 5 or 6. The probability of rolling an even number is 1/2. You could roll 2, 4 or 6. The probability of rolling greater than 4 or an even number is 1/3 + 1/2 - 1/6 which = 2/3
