Here is an example of how to graph 2x2+3x+5.

Press Y=. Then, next to Y1= type 2x2+3x+5. Use the x2 button to type the second 2 in 2x2. To type x, press the X,T,θ,n button or press ALHPA and then press X (above STO>).

  • If you do not see Y1= then press mode, select FUNC, and try again.

  • If you get an error, try pressing 2ND and then STAT PLOT (above Y=), select option 4, PlotsOff, and then press ENTER until the calculator says Done. Then try again.
  • If you cannot see the graph, then press ZOOM and select the sixth option, zoom standard and press ENTER. If you still cannot see the graph, press ZOOM and select option 0, ZoomFit (at the bottom) and press ENTER. If you still cannot see the graph, then clear what is next to Y1= and try again. If there are things next to Y2= and so on, you may want to clear them to make the graph easier to see.

How do you find intersection points on TI84 calculator?

Graph the two lines or equations you want to find the intersection of. Then adjust the window so that you can see the intersection point. (If you don't know where it is, try pressing ZOOM and choosing ZoomFit.) Then press 2ND CALC (above TRACE) and choose option 5, intersect. Use the up and down arrows to select the first equation you want to find the intersection point on, and press ENTER. Do the same thing for the second equation. The calculator will now say "Guess?". Use the left and right arrows to move the x-like shape as close to the intersection point as possible, then press ENTER. The calculator will tell you the intersection point and the bottom of the screen. If you get a NO SIGN CHNG error, then it might be because the intersection point is not on the screen. Change the window so that you can see the intersection point and try again. Also, make sure that your guess is somewhat close to the intersection point.

How do you change ' equals ' part of Y equals in a ti84 calculator?

To graph inequalities (y is 'less than', 'greater than', 'less than or equal to', or 'greater than or equal to'), turn on the Inequality Graphing app. Do to this, press APPS and choose Inequalz. You should see the 'less than', 'greater than', 'less than or equal to', or 'greater than or equal to' symbols at the bottom of the Y= screen. To change and equals sign to one of those symbols, highlight the equals sign, press ALPHA, and then press the button directly under the sign you want to use (ALPHA TRACE for greater than, for example). To turn of Inequality Graphing, press APPS, choose Inequalz, and then choose Quit Inequal.
