all graphs of the form y=mx+c are simple to graph. SImpley notcice that it is a straight line, with gradiant m, and y-intercept of c.

So your example gives us a graph with a gradiant of -1 going through the y axis at 3 and the x axis at 3

find the x intercept by setting y = zero

x+y=-3 Change to slope-intercept form

y=-x-3

y-intercept = -3

Plot point (0,-3)

Slope = coefficent of x = -1

Slope = Rise/run = Y/X

From 0,-3 move down -1 and to the right 1

Or move up one and to the left 1

If: y = x+3 then y-x = 3 and the x intercept is at (-3, 0) while the y intercept is at (0, 3) and so by joining the points the equation has been graphed
