Well first you need to have x coordinate. Lets say x=0 and y=2, y is the line that is vertical and x is the line that is horizontal. Now you can remember this by over and out. First you do is the x coordinate which is 0. So you move left and/or right 0 times. If its a positive number then you move right on the x line and if its negative number you move left on the x line. But the number 0 is not a negative or positive number so you just keep the number 0 in the middle of the graph. Do not make a mark where the 0 coordinate was supposed to go. Just try to remember where the coordinate is supposed to go. Now its time to do the y coordinate which is 2. So you move up and/or down 2 times. If its a positive number then you move up on the y line and if its a negative number then you move down on the y line. The number 2 is a positive number and goes on the y line so you move up 2 times. So remember where the x coordinate was? Put your pencil there and move up 2. That's how you graph y=2.

Hope it helps!

How can you translate the graph of y equals x to obtain the graph of y equals x-4 plus 2?

y equals x-4 plus 2 is the same as y = x-2. You just translate the graph of y=x, 2 units to the right, OR 2 down.

Graph x equals y plus 2?

x=y+2 y=x-2 The y value at the x axis (x=0) will be -2, so graph (0, -2). Let's calculate a few more points by varying x and calculating y: if x=2, y=2-2=0 (2, 0) similarly: (1, -1) (5, 3) Graph those points, then draw a line connecting them all. That's the graph of x=y+2.

Graph the equation y equals 2?

Y = 2 The graph is a horizontal line passing through the point Y=2 on the Y=axis. The line is parallel to the X-axis, and exactly 2 units above it everywhere.

Graph the linear equation y equals -x plus 2?

y = -x + 2The graph is a straight line, with [slope = -1], and passing through the point [y=2] on the y-axis.

What does y-x-2 look like on a graph?

You could not graph (y-x-2) because it has no equal sign in it. In order to graph an equation, there must be a value that the numbers and variables are equal to. (e.g. y=2x+3)

State the slope and the y-intercept for the graph of the equation y-2?

If that should be y = 2 the slope is 0 and the y intercept is 2.

How do you graph y plus 2 equals 7?

The equation you have given, y + 2 = 7, does not describe a line, it describes the number 5. You would not graph a single number, there is nothing to graph.

What describes how to translate the graph y x to obtain the graph of y x plus 1 plus 1?

You move the graph upwards by 2 units.
