drink plenty so you don't retain fluids. don't skip breakfast. avoid snacks, junk food, beverages other than water, fried foods, and salt. get plenty of fiber in veggies, whole grains and some fruit. don't eat a lot of meat or carbs, but don't avoid them completely. if all this isn't helping, keep track of your calorie consumption and cut back gradually, but don't go to an unhealthy minimum. see a doctor before attempting a daily regimen of less than 2000 calories or so.
