1/2 + 1/3=
You will find an explanation in your math text, but this is how I do it:
You find the lowest common denominator.
We will use 2 and 3 in our example.
In our case we can just multiply the two together to get 6 But it isn't always that easy, just a good place to start.
Then you take the number over the 2 and multiply by 3 so you get a result of something over 6.
Then you take the number over the 3 and multiply by 2 and end up with something over 6.
So we end up with 3/6 and 2/6
so 3/6 + 2/6 = ?
Disimilar fraction.are fraction with different denominators. Similar fraction.are fraction with the same denominators.
Yes.
Yes.
It's the same thing as adding or subtracting normal fractions - just make sure both fractions have the same denominators (by either multiplying the denominators or simplifying the fraction - whichever the question needs).
You first have to convert the fractions so that the denominators are the same.

because they are the same number
When the denominators are the same, whichever one has the greater numerator is greater.

Like fractions are fractions with the same denominators.
They have the same denominators.
You first have to convert the fractions so that the denominators are the same.
They must have the same denominators.
you make them have like denominators by multiplying so many times that they have the same denominators or you can make them have like denominators by multiplying the two
Find the least common denominator and convert them to equivalent fractions so that the denominators are the same. Choose the one with the greatest denominator.
